Short Biography
Kevin Muster (*1989) is a curator, art dealer, art consultant, numismatist and project manager. Over the past fifteen years, he has launched and worked on various projects in the fields of art, culture and the creative industries in general. In addition to his general interest in the material culture of the human spirit, he is primarily focused on the afterlife of antiquity and its reception in popular culture, the avant-gardes of the 20th century with a focus on Expressionism, Dadaism, Surrealism, Pop Art, Viennese Actionism and Swiss art (collective designation). He is also intensively involved with the art market as such and in his work with contemporary art he is particularly interested in the conception and realization of thematic group exhibitions and the new media/web3 and their possibilities and challenges.
Collecting has played a central role since his childhood: the approach of his private collection, which has grown especially over the last 14 years, is based on the model of the historical Chamber of Wonders and the Studiolo. In addition to objects and works from the areas/epochs of ancient art, numismatics, Africana, Naturalia, Literature, Renaissance and Modern Art, is the acquisition of a work from most of the contemporary positions with which Kevin has worked.
Currently he lives and works in Berne and Zurich (Switzerland).

Some personal statements about the potential of the Art(s)
- Art is the fourth branch of the state powers (or it could be, if we want).
- Art is a primordial human activity, if - in addition to the ability to empathize - not even the human activity. It gives every individual, whether as a creator or as a viewer, the chance to take a new perspective on the world; first and foremost on yourself (if you can allow it). It is about recognizing and reflecting on the self in space and time.
- Art is the last non-moral space in which humanity can not only think about but also realize (or could realize) what it means to be human and how we wish to live, analogous to the function of Attic tragedy in ancient Greece.
- Analogous to the humanities, art is a relevant indicator of the times, whether to learn from the past or to serve as a vanguard in shaping the future.
- Art is a means of destruction and creation - we just have to decide what we want to destroy and what we want to build.
To keep it brief, art can be business and investment, even entertainment - no problem, and everyone has to make a living somehow. However, the spirit of the times is characterized by a very one-sided relationship - for this reason, it is important to continually invoke the potential of art.
